The World Revolves Around The New Baby

She is the center of the universe for my entire family. We all call each other to make sure everyone is caught up on the latest. "Olivia can roll over both ways now!" "Olivia can suck her toes!" "Olivia laughed." "Olivia cut her first tooth!" And we couldn't be more excited for every single step.

I was the baby of my family...and we didn't live super close to my cousins...so I wasn't around a lot of babies growing up. I think this is the closest I've been to seeing "parenting"....and thus seeing a new side of the Fatherhood of God. When we first start off on our journey of faith, I don't think God expects us to be leading Bible conferences and writing commentaries on Revelation...I don't even think he minds if we don't get it all right at first... I think---just like we are with a new child---he rejoices and claps with every small step we make towards becoming the fullness of what he created us to be. Right now...God and my family are so excited and rejoicing that Olivia has found her toes. :-) Someday, when she's curing cancer or running for president, maybe we'll look back and think ...."wow, I remember when you first learned to roll over and suck your toes." That's cool. I'm excited that I'm able to witness this aspect of life.
